Dangerous household product may affect West Virginia residents

West Virginia residents may not think of food when they think of a dangerous household product, but a recent recall may be an eye opener to some. Many people have been affected by this dangerous household product. Anyone that consumes cheese could be interested in this recent recall by Whole Foods Market.

Cave Brothers Les Freres cheese is being recalled because of a type of bacterial contamination that has caused serious illness and even one reported death thus far. It is said to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. This bacterium is especially dangerous for women who are pregnant and people whose immune systems may have been compromised.

This cheese was distributed around the country not only at physical supermarkets but at food service establishments as well as via mail order. Whole Foods has asked customers to discard the product rather than risking ingestion of the cheese. Although a recall was issued, those that have already ingested the product could still be at risk.

Any West Virginia resident that has feels they have been affected by a dangerous household product, whether food or otherwise, may want to look into their rights under the applicable state laws. When a person purchases a product, they typically do so with the belief that it is safe for use or consumption. When that product doesn't meet that expectation and causes injury, a person may have the right to file a civil suit. By researching and understanding consumer rights, individuals can determine the best way to move forward with any action that might be warranted.
