West Virginia truck accident injures two people

Whenever two vehicles in West Virginia are involved in a collision, there is a possibility that the result will be an injury accident. This is especially true when one of the vehicles is a semi-truck with a substantial amount of power and weight. Although drivers of smaller cars can try to avoid such a situation, there is often nowhere to turn or move away when an 18-wheeler is out of control, and the result can be a commercial vehicle accident.

Recently, two people were injured after a large semi-truck transporting a crane and another car collided in the westbound lanes of I-64 in Huntington. The tractor-trailer tipped onto its side and fell across the highway, causing the affected lanes to be closed from approximately 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. At first, authorities were unsure if anyone had been hurt, but it was later confirmed that two people were taken to an area medical centers with injuries. The cause of the accident was not provided by investigators.

A recovery from a semi truck accident can be long and hard for a person who has suffered serious injuries. In addition to time spent in the hospital and rehabilitation, an accident victim may suffer lost wages, temporary or permanent disability, and ongoing medical expenses. In such a case, it may be best to speak with experienced legal counsel. If the truck accident happened because the driver of the truck or the truck company was negligent, it may be possible for the injured person to recover all appropriate compensation.
