Pool drained onto road in freezing temp leads to car accidents

Common sense might not always prevail. According to a report, a man in another state was arrested after he was working on a pool, and drained the pools water onto a road, despite temperatures below freezing. The water quickly froze on the road, causing multiple accidents.

Police said one car hit a guard rail, a car hit an SUV that had spun out, and another vehicle hit the SUV before colliding with a salt truck. The salt truck was heading to the location to treat the road, but it apparently was too late. The police also had difficulty even getting close to the accidents because of the slippery conditions.

While the man who reportedly drained the pool onto the road was arrested and faces misdemeanor charges of reckless endangerment, the people who were involved in the accidents might see criminal charges as unhelpful.

One woman was taken to a hospital because of injuries after the accident, but was later released. Even though the hospitalization wasn't for an extended period of time, medical bills can quickly add up.

People who are negligent, resulting in injuries to others, should be held accountable. In West Virginia, car accident injuries can set a person back thousands of dollars. This can be especially difficult while a person is out of work and trying to coordinate the best health care possible for their injuries. Speaking to an attorney can help a person understand what steps they should take to ensure they receive compensation from the party that caused the accident.
