West Virginia infants may be at risk due to defective product

West Virginia residents may be interested in hearing of a product recall that may affect the safety of their infants. Roughly 100,000 stuffed bunny toys and bear-shaped ring rattles made by Vera Bradley have been recalled. Apparently, there is a pom-pom tail on both of the toys, which can detach from the defective product and cause an infant to choke.

The bear-shaped ring rattle has a body shaped like a circle, a white bear head and a crisscross design in pink and brown on the rattle section. There are three print patterns of the bunny toy. One pattern consists of green vines with orange and pink flowers. Another design consists of a geometric crisscross pattern on the legs, arms and ears with a floral body. The third design is green with a yellow and pink floral pattern.

These products were sold at a variety of department stores and gift shops, including Vera Bradley stores and online. The products were sold between September 2012 to January 2014. Although no injuries have been reported at this time, there have been two reports of the detachment of the tail.

If the negligence of the manufacturer of these Vera Bradley products caused the pom-pom tail detachment and risk of choking, West Virginia residents that have fallen victim to the defective product may have reason to pursue a products liability case. Injured parties are often eligible to receive a monetary award that can help pay for medical expenses and other related costs. Whether an injury or fatality occurs before or after the product has been removed from store shelves, consumers have the right to explore legal options that are available to them.
