Tyson chicken nuggets may be defective product and cause injury

Fully cooked frozen foods are probably one of the primary things in the freezer of a busy family or a single parent. This is especially true when it comes to chicken nuggets. Almost all kids love Tyson chicken nuggets and they're extremely easy to fix for West Virginia residents on the go. Unfortunately, Tyson has recently recalled thousands of pounds of chicken nugget products that could be labeled as a defective product.

The chicken nuggets that are subject to the recall include the 5-lb. bags of the fully cooked white meat chicken nuggets and the 20-lb. bags of fully cooked nugget-shaped rib meat chicken breast pattie fritters. Both products were produced from Jan. 26 to Feb. 16. The 5-lb. bags were shipped to Sam's Club distribution centers across the nation and the 20-lb. bags were shipped to Arkansas and Indiana for institutional use.

Apparently, Tyson received multiple complaints regarding pieces of plastic being found in the food products. Luckily, they were able to identify the source of the issue and will likely be working to fix the machine so that this problem doesn't occur again in the future. Now, although no deaths or severe injuries have been reported, some consumers did suffer minor injuries from ingestion of the plastic pieces.

Although Tyson quickly took action and recalled the defective product, they are still liable for any injuries that occurred due to the harmful products. There are certain food safety regulations that product manufacturers must follow and failing to abide by those rules can often lead to product failure in the future. Individuals in West Virginia who have been injured due to Tyson's defective food products may be able to file a product liability claim that could include a monetary award for pain and suffering, medical expense and related damages.
