Man accuses manufacturer of defective product following stroke

When a patient in West Virginia takes any type of medication, he or she expects the drug to help them. If nothing else, the patient expects the drug to not harm them in any way. Patients expect side effects to be properly listed on the drug's packaging. Unfortunately, this does not always occur, and a defective product can make its way into consumers' hands.

A man from another state has recently filed a claim against the manufacturer of a testosterone gel. The man had used the gel and suffered injuries afterward. He is claiming that the gel is an unsafe and defective product.

On January 11, the man says that he suffered an unfortunate stroke. The stroke happened after he had been prescribed AndroGel. He had begun taking the drug per his physician's instructions. The gel is supposed to improve a man's testosterone.

The man is seeking various damages in his lawsuit. He is also accusing the manufacturer of the gel of negligence, various breaches and failing to adequately warn consumers of the gel's potential health hazards. This is the second lawsuit that has been filed against this manufacturer. There may be more on the way once other consumers get word of the effects of this drug.

Whether West Virginia residents are facing a similar situation as this man or a child has been injured by a defective children's product, the fact of the matter is that injured individuals have the right to pursue legal action against the manufacturer of a defective product. Although the process can be intimidating, it may prove helpful to understand the laws associated with product liability. This may help ensure that victims are able to obtain the most favorable outcome in a lawsuit.
