Truck accident leads to 2 injuries in West Virginia

A vehicle crash that leads to injuries can be physically devastating, in addition to causing emotional distress to the injury victims. A truck accident, in particular, can cause large amounts of damage because of the major impact that a huge semi can have with smaller vehicles on the road. Two people recently suffered injuries in a tragic accident involving a semi in West Virginia.

The accident occurred on a recent Saturday in the area of Interstate 64. According to authorities, the crash took place in the lanes going east in the afternoon. Three automobiles were involved in the crash.

The tractor-trailer may have caused this wreck, police said. Two individuals suffered injuries and were transported to a medical center. Although one victim’s injuries were deemed minor, the other person’s injuries were unknown shortly after the accident.

A police investigation will help to yield more information about the cause or contributing factors of this truck accident. If it is found that the driver of the semi caused the crash due to negligent driving, such as driving too fast for road conditions, he or she may be held financially responsible for the wreck. The employer of the driver may also face a personal injury suit. Injured victims have the right to seek the reimbursement of financial damages resulting from the collision, such as loss of wages and medical expenses. A preponderance of the evidenced is necessary in order for the plaintiffs to prove that their injuries stemmed from the negligent actions of another party in this West Virginia crash.
