Car accident results in 3 deaths in West Virginia

An accident involving two people recently took the life of a woman in West Virginia. The car accident took place on a Friday at a little past 1 a.m., according to police. It happened in the area of Interstate 64.

A woman, who was said to be 19 years old and a former football player in high school, was going west on the interstate. Another vehicle driver, who was allegedly going in the incorrect direction on this interstate, hit the first car, police reported. Both individuals died at the crash scene.

A person who was riding in the 19-year-old's vehicle was transported to the hospital. He ended up dying as a result of his injuries as well. Both he and the driver had to be extricated from their vehicle with specialized equipment due to the impact of the crash. Police had to close down the interstate where the accident occurred for several hours.

Authorities may uncover who caused the crash through their investigation. The family members of the people who died in the car accident may decide to file wrongful death claims against this at-fault person, seeking monetary damages that may help them to pay for their loved ones' funerals, hospital bills and other expenses related to the crash. Driving the incorrect way on a road may be considered negligence behind the wheel, and proof that this occurred may be presented in court in order to try to prove that the reported wrong-way driver is liable for the other victims' deaths in this West Virginia accident.
