Keurig Mini Plus brewers named as a dangerous household product

For many residents here in West Virginia, a morning cup of Joe is the norm. Due to the fact that life is busy, many people have turned to the Keurig Mini Plus coffee brewer to brew quality coffee in a fraction of the time and to limit wasting an entire pot of coffee since these machines only brew a single cup at a time. Unfortunately, a recent recall by Keurig suggests that the coffee machines are a dangerous household product and could harm to anyone using them.

There were over 6.5 million Keurig machines recalled, including in West Virginia. The machines that are affected by the recall are the Mini Plus brewers that were manufactured beginning in Dec. 2009. The serial numbers for these brewers begin with 31, and the model number is K10.

The machines reportedly have the ability to spew scalding hot water when in use. This is particularly true if the machines are used to brew two cups or more, one right after another. So far, the company has received roughly 90 separate injury reports from the hot liquid.

When a dangerous household product is introduced to the market and carries the potential risk of harming a consumer or innocent bystanders, injured individuals in West Virginia have the right to consider a legal lawsuit. Those who have suffered serious burns or other injures as a result of a defective coffee brewer or any other product may be entitled to financial compensation for financial damages incurred. These damages may include physical pain and suffering, emotional distress, lost wages and medical expenses, among others.
