Car crash results in 1 woman's death, 3 children's injuries

Wrong-way accidents can quickly result in serious injury or death, especially if they happen between two cars moving swiftly on an interstate. This type of car crash recently took place in West Virginia, leading to one death and four injuries. The head-on accident happened near a toll booth at about 12 p.m. on a Sunday.

Police said a sport utility vehicle left the highway near a toll booth and, when it returned to the highway, it was heading the incorrect way. At that time, it reportedly struck another vehicle head-on. The sport utility vehicle was driven by a man, 43, and a woman was driving the car that was hit.

The woman died in the collision. Meanwhile, three kids in her vehicle suffered injuries. The driver of the sport utility vehicle was also injured.

The man believed to have caused the head-on car crash may face legal troubles in the form of a liability claim. The family members of the woman who was killed in the crash may opt to file a wrongful death claim against him; in addition, personal injury claims may be filed against the man in connection with the children's injuries. If liability is proved to the court's satisfaction and financial damages are achieved in the lawsuits, they might help to address any monetary ramifications of the accident. For instance, damages may be used to cover funeral costs, loss of support or medical expenses in addition to helping address the emotional distress and pain and suffering caused by the tragic West Virginia wreck.
