Dangerous or defective products can put infants at risk

Preparing for the arrival of a beautiful bundle of joy is an exciting time in any parent's life. This preparation includes searching for baby clothes, baby bedding, a crib, a bassinet and much more. Sadly, dangerous or defective products come in many forms, including baby bassinets. West Virginia parents who purchased bassinets in the last three years will want to be aware of this recent recall.

Dream on Me Inc. has issued a recall for 13,000 of its products. The affected product is the 2-in-1 Bassinet to Cradle. Apparently, the wire supports on the sides of the bassinets can separate. This can cause the sides of the bassinets, which are made out of fabric, to lower. This puts babies at risk of suffocation or of falling out of the bassinet.

So far, no injuries have been reported. However, Dream on Me Inc. was made aware of the issue when it received an incident report regarding the defective product. The products were sold between May 2012 and Oct. 2014 for roughly $60. They come in green, blue, white and pink designs.

When West Virginia parents are searching for products that they will use with their newborn babies, they seek out products that meet safety standards. Unfortunately, in most cases, parents are not aware of any issues until the dangerous or defective products fail. Sometimes, these failures result in unnecessary injuries or even deaths. A West Virginia resident who has suffered as a result of a faulty product has the legal right to file a claim against the manufacturer of the product in hopes of obtaining compensation for the suffering that the product caused.
