1 woman dies in West Virginia car wreck

Head-on collisions are some of the most dangerous types of crashes, particularly when they occur in swiftly moving traffic on a highway. The sudden impact at high speeds can easily lead to severe incapacitating injuries or even death. One woman in West Virginia recently lost her life in this type of car wreck.

The car accident took place after 3 p.m. on a Wednesday. Police said a woman was driving a pickup truck south along U.S. Route 52. All of a sudden, another vehicle entered her lane and struck the pickup truck head-on.

A man was driving the northbound car that reportedly hit the pickup truck. The woman ended up dying as a result of the accident. Meanwhile, the other driver suffered injuries deemed not to be life-threatening and was taken to a medical center. Officials continue to investigate the collision.

The man could be held financially responsible for the woman's death. This is because her family has the right to file a wrongful death lawsuit against him, seeking the reimbursement of financial damages stemming from the car wreck in West Virginia. A financial award based upon the documentation of specified damages and competent proof of negligence might help to address the financial ramifications of the accident; for instance, it may be used to cover the victim's burial costs and other losses stemming from the crash, such as loss of companionship or future lost wages. The court will determine monetary damage claims only if liability can be established by appropriate evidence.
