Defective products include baby floats and golf cars

Several recent product recalls may affect consumers in West Virginia. These include recalls of inflatable baby floats, snowmobiles and golf cars, along with other products. If people in the state are injured as a result of using defective products, it is within their rights to seek justice through the civil court system.

Inflatable baby floats by the company Otteroo are being recalled because each flotation device has a seam that can end up leaking air and deflating. These devices, therefore, pose a drowning risk. The rings are made out of plastic material and have a couple of air chambers that are made to fasten around an infant's neck using a white buckle. So far, there have been more than 50 reports of seams that were broken; no injuries were reported.

Yamaha's SRViper snowmobiles from the year 2015 are also being recalled because their brake lines and the lines' components may make contact with the clutch. This can cause the brakes to fail, thus potentially leading to death or injury. In addition, several models of Yamaha's golf cars are being recalled because their front wheel hubs may crack, thus causing the wheels to end up detaching. This poses a crash hazard, which could lead to death or injury.

Although companies try to recall defective products, sometimes people still get injured if the product recalls were not issued early enough. Injuries can easily be financially costly, depending on their severity. A person harmed by a malfunctioning product in West Virginia has the right to seek the reimbursement of monetary damages, which might help them to cover the cost of medical care and other monetary losses stemming from use of the dangerous product.
