Nissan auto defects spark two recalls

West Virginia drivers might be affected by two recalls being issued by Nissan. These two recent recalls related to auto defects impact more than 300,000 automobiles in the United States. The larger of the two recalls involves the Versa Note from the model years of 2014 to 2015 as well as the Versa from the model years of 2012 to 2015.

For the larger recall, authorities said the trim panel on the center consoles of these vehicles have the potential to catch the shoe of a driver when it is moving to the brake from the accelerator. This delay may end up causing a vehicle crash. Dealers are willing to modify this part. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has been looking into this matter since 2014. One crash has already taking place as a result of this defect in early 2015, resulting in minor injuries.

The second Nissan recall covers more than 1,500 Nissan Armada vehicles manufactured in April 2015 to June 2015. Officials said the front passenger and driver seatbelts my not latch correctly, or they may not unlatch when a person presses the appropriate button. Dealers have agreed to replace the assemblies if needed.

These types of auto defects can be life-threatening or may lead to serious injuries in West Virginia. People who are hurt due to using defective automobiles are entitled to seek redress for their monetary damages. The loved ones of people who die after using defective vehicles may also file wrongful death lawsuits in the automobile manufacturers. A monetary award in a legal case that is fought successfully may help to cover related financial losses, such as medical expenses or burial costs, depending on the circumstances surrounding the case.
