Car wreck claims 3 lives, causes 3 injuries

Three lives were sadly cut short in a recent West Virginia vehicle accident. The crash occurred on a recent Friday along state Route 152. The three people who died in the car wreck were 25, 33 and 56 years of age.

Authorities said a sports utility vehicle that the 25-year-old was driving breached the middle line of the road. Passengers in his vehicle say this was done to keep from striking a vehicle on the state highway that had stopped. However, the SUV ended up hitting another one head on.

The driver and a 56-year-old passenger in the first SUV died at the accident scene. Meanwhile, a passenger in the second SUV was transported to the hospital, where he passed away one day later. Police reported that three other individuals suffered injuries in the crash.

The injured parties in the collision may opt to file personal injury claims in this fatal car wreck case. In addition, the surviving family members of the deceased passengers in both SUVs are entitled to file wrongful death claims. Even though the driver of the first sport utility vehicle deemed to have caused the accident passed away, his estate might be named as a defendant in a civil suit, along with any other person who maintained an ownership interest in the vehicle he was driving when the accident occurred. It remains to be seen if a claim may also be appropriate against the driver and owner of the vehicle that had apparently stopped on the highway. Liability must be established to the satisfaction of the civil court hearing the case in West Virginia before monetary damage claims will be decided.
