Auto defects impact Hyundai, Nissan and Subaru vehicles

Drivers in West Virginia may be impacted by a few recent vehicle recalls. One of the recalls involving serious auto defects impacts the Hyundai Genesis Coupe. The others involve the Nissan Rouge, the Subaru Legacy and the Subaru Outback.

Hyundai Motor America has decided to recall certain Hyundai Genesis Coupes from the model years 2013 to 2015. The problem with these vehicles is that if the suspension rear crossmember and the differential were not appropriately aligned when the vehicle was being assembled, the bolts securing the vehicle's differential might loosen. This can lead to the loss of propulsion and, thus, pose a crash risk. Nearly 11,000 vehicles are affected by the vehicle recall.

The 2015 Nissan Rouge also poses a vehicle crash risk due to an issue with the vehicle's shift-selector knob. More than 33,000 of these vehicles are affected. The 2016 Subaru Legacy and Outback vehicles are also being recalled because the back differential can separate from the drive shaft on the vehicles on which the securing nuts were not tightened properly. This vehicle recall affects more than 3,000 automobiles.

When vehicles have defects, they can easily cause people to suffer major injuries or even to lose their lives. People who are injured as a result of auto defects have the right to file civil claims against the allegedly at-fault car manufacturers. Likewise, the loved ones of those who die in faulty vehicles may opt to file wrongful death claims, seeking damages. Only when liability has been established in court will damage claims be decided in West Virginia.
