Recent dangerous home products include frying plans

West Virginia consumers who recently bought cookware as a gift for loved ones or received cookware may be impacted by a recent product recall. The recall involves two different frying pans. Macy's has issued the recall of the dangerous home products.

The problem pans are from Martha Stewart's 10-piece collection of stainless steel cookware. The Consumer Product Safety Commission said it received a total of seven reports about injuries suffered by people using the cookware. It has thus advised consumers to quit utilizing the 10-inch and 8-inch frying pans immediately.

The pan has metal discs covering its rivets. According to the commission, these metal discs can pop off and end up striking a consumer, thus causing welts, bruises and burns. The other items in the cookware set are not impacted by the recall; however, purchasers of the set are encouraged to return the problem pans for store credit.

Even though dangerous home products may be recalled, they may cause major injuries to consumers before they can be replaced. Injuries suffered from product defects in West Virginia might unfortunately be costly to treat in addition to preventing a person from being able to earn a living for a period of time, thus causing more financial issues. In this situation, it is within the rights of the injured party to pursue the reimbursement of monetary damages sustained as a result of using the dangerous products. Liability must be established to the satisfaction of the civil court hearing the case before claims for monetary damages will be adjudicated.
