Motorcycle accident leads to 1 death in West Virginia

One man lost his life in a recent vehicle crash, leaving his surviving family members reeling in grief and searching for answers about how the crash could have taken place. The motorcycle accident occurred on a recent Thursday in West Virginia. The car-bike collision took place during the night hours.

According to police, a man, 19, was driving a motorcycle. All of a sudden, his bike was struck by a car. The crash took place at the intersection of one road and State Route 21.

The motorcyclist suffered injuries at the crash scene and was taken to the hospital. However, he ended up dying at the medical center. The person who was driving the car that reportedly struck the motorcycle is 16. Authorities continued to investigate the collision.

The car driver might be held liable for the motorcyclist's death in this fatal motorcycle accident case in West Virginia. This is because the surviving loved ones of the deceased motorcyclist have the right to file a wrongful death claim, seeking damages. A damage award -- if achieved -- may help the family members to cover the motorcyclist's medical bills, burial expenses and even the loss of income for surviving dependents. It may also help to address pain and suffering as well as emotional distress caused by the wreck. Even though monetary compensation cannot restore the life of a person who has been killed as a result of another person's negligence, it may help the victim's loved ones to more easily move forward from the tragedy.
