Karma Drones are considered dangerous products

Consumers in West Virginia might be affected by the recent recall of the GoPro Karma Drone. A total of 2,500 of these drones are being recalled after officials discovered that they were potentially dangerous products. Specifically, the drone reportedly lost power while in operation in a handful of cases, which can cause them to fall and strike a person on the ground. GoPro is working with the Federal Aviation Administration and the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission to solve the problem.

Customers who have purchased the $800 drones can return the devices and receive complete refunds for them. In addition, the company announced that the devices' sales and shipments have been suspended. It stated that the device will not be put back on the market until its current performance problems has been addressed.

The Karma Drone is the first drone by GoPro and may be mounted to a vehicle or held in the hand so that the user can capture a stabilized video during an activity. The device can fold up for storage and includes a backpack. These devices went on sale back in October.

If people in West Virginia are injured as a result of using dangerous products, it is within their rights to file product liability claims against the product makers, seeking damages. A successfully fought suit may result in a monetary award, which may help to cover medical costs, the loss of wages or other losses stemming from the use of the defective product. Claims for damages cannot be determined until and unless liability has been established to the court's satisfaction.
