Defective products from Polaris recalled

Owners of Polaris off-highway vehicles in West Virginia may be affected by a recent recall of these vehicles. The company has decided to recall all youth RZR 170 ROVs from the model years of 2015 to 2017. These defective products are being recalled due to fuel tank issues and fire hazards.

The vehicles being recalled each have two seats and feature the colors of red, white and blue. The company so far has received over 100 reports regarding fuel tank necks that were cracked. They also received reports related to burning, shorted or melted wires. Four reports were with regard to fires.

No injuries were reported in relation to the Polaris vehicles. These items were marketed for $4,600 to $4,800 between February of 2015 and July of 2017. Polaris also recently recalled over 25,000 Polaris Sportsman 570 vehicles from the model year of 2014. This recall was issued after the company received 30 reports about fuel leaks, with four incidents involving blazes. The company furthermore recalled 2017 RZR S 570 and RZR 570 off-highway vehicles due to vehicle defects.

When companies in West Virginia or elsewhere create products and put them on the market, consumers naturally expect them to be safe to use. However, this is not always the case. If companies market defective products that cause injuries to their users, the injured consumers have the right to take legal action. Liability has to be established, based upon a showing of negligence, before claims for damages will be determined. A successful claim may lead to monetary damages that may help the injury victim to cover his or her medical costs and other losses.
