Car accident sends 4 to West Virginia hospital

Expecting the unexpected is just one of the things drivers across West Virginia deal with when they get behind the wheel. Attentive drivers do what they can to minimize the dangers and obstacles they encounter on the roads, but no driver can anticipate everything. That's when car accidents happen. And all too often, a driver can become part of a wreck without ever seeing it coming.

That's what appears to have happened to three people, including a 2-year-old toddler. They were in a vehicle traveling up the on-ramp to I-79 at Morgantown. Just at that moment, a pickup truck on the highway left the road, struck the vehicle with the three people inside, and flipped. During the accident, the pickup truck driver was thrown from her vehicle.

In all, four people were taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital, including the toddler. The extent of their injuries and information about their medical conditions was not immediately available from through media reports. What took mere seconds to happen may take weeks, or even months, to recover from.

No one can plan for the unexpected, though some may try. There are some obstacles that can be foreseen and anticipated, but when drivers encounter unexpected circumstances and dangers, accidents can happen.

In the aftermath of an accident, the victims are left with property damage, medical bills, lost wages, and sometimes, even funeral expenses. Those involved in a car accident may need help figuring out what to do next. It is for those unexpected times when West Virginia courts gives victims a place to turn to pursue claims of negligence against those deemed responsible for any injuries which occurred.
