West Virginia Mercedes owners may notice auto defect

West Virginia drivers may be aware of the possibility of an auto defect when they purchase an automobile. However, most drivers probably believe that the manufacturer has taken every precaution to prevent an auto defect. When the defect occurs while driving, it can be a scary and dangerous experience for all involved. A recent issue with Mercedes C-Class sedans is making headlines and causing concern.

The complaint has involved the malfunction of signal lights and brake lights. A total of 21 complaints were received before an investigation was started. There are now 218,000 cars that are being reviewed. A recall has yet to be issued.

Car owners have stated that signal lights fail and as of now it appears the problems found so far have stemmed from a lamp connector failure. There have been reports of burnt or melted electrical components. Some owners have noted there are burn marks on the truck area of their cars and one owner reported that flames erupted from a connector in the rear lamp. While the investigation continues and it is decided if a recall must be issued, any owner that has been impacted or injured as a result of these issues may want to look into their rights under the state laws.

West Virginia residents who feel they have been the victim of any auto defect may want to take a proactive approach. In the case of serious injury or trauma, an owner may want to look into their rights to file a civil suit. With a proper understanding of the laws and knowing the best way to proceed with any necessary action, an owner can be more hopeful that an appropriate settlement will be agreed upon.
