Teething toys deemed as defective product per recent recall

When West Virginia parents purchase a product or toy for their children, they expect that it will be safe and benefit the child in one way or another. No parent honestly expects for a toy to harm their child. Unfortunately, a defective product recall for a popular teething toy may have parents all over the country concerned with the safety of their small children.

An Infantino teething toy shaped like a monkey is being recalled due to the possibility of becoming a choking hazard for small children. The squeaky toy was sold at Target stores across the nation from Dec. 2012 to January of this year. Reportedly, there are over 190,000 of these monkey-shaped teething toys that are affected by this recall.

The model number for this particular product is 206-647. There is a similar product made by the same company; however, it is not part of the recall. That toy's model number is 206-949 and is at this time not a reason for parents to be concerned.

The recall of this teething toy comes after seven different reports of an infant gagging or choking on the toy monkey's tail. Luckily, at this time, no injuries have been officially reported by consumers. Consumers who have purchased or know someone who has purchased this teething toy should stop using it immediately and request a free product replacement from Infantino.

Individuals in West Virginia who have become unfortunate victims to a manufacturer's defective products would do well to understand their legal rights. In most cases, the injured may be eligible for monetary remedies and damages in a potential products liability lawsuit. Victims may wish to fight for full, fair and deserving compensation for injuries sustained as a result of a defective product.
