Tips for keeping West Virginia kids safe from a defective product

There have been a large number and wide variety of products recalled as of late. There's been a little bit of everything, from car seats and baby monitors to leaf blowers and Oscar Mayer wieners. Parents in West Virginia likely want to do everything they possibly can to protect their children from being harmed by a defective product. Luckily, there are a few steps parents can take to keep their kids safe.

First, parents can be proactive by checking the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission for recalls. It is important to check all recalls. This is because it is just as likely for small toys, such as rattles, to be recalled as large products, such as car seats.

Parents who like to shop for bargains should make sure to check for recalls on products that are purchased. Whether from Goodwill, a garage sale or from a friend, it is possible that toys were recalled in the past for one reason or another. In some cases, not all product recalls require a complete replacement and instead simply need a quick repair that most parents can do themselves.

While many parents always look for products of high quality, doing so isn't always that easy. A defective product can be the most expensive item in the toy store or be made from the most well-known brand in the country. For individuals in West Virginia who have fallen victim to a defective product, it may be possible to recover monetary damages for the harm that was caused by a particular product.
