Car accident leads to injuries in West Virginia

Speeding on the road may seem exhilarating for a while, but if a person loses control of the vehicle, the consequences can be serious. For instance, a resulting accident can cause other motorists or passengers to suffer major injuries. One recent car accident involving three vehicles in West Virginia may have been the result of speeding, according to police.

The accident took place after 9 p.m. It happened in the area of Route 19 when a man was driving south on this road. The man then reportedly drove his automobile into the opposite lane.

As a result, his vehicle struck that of another man who was driving north on the street. The first man’s car then hit another northbound vehicle. The driver and a passenger in the second car, along with a passenger from the first car, suffered injuries and were taken to the hospital. According to police, speed appears to be a causal factor in this vehicle collision. Charges were pending following the police’s accident investigation.

Driving at an excessive speed may be considered negligent driving. Proof that the first driver did this at the time of the car accident may be used to try to establish his liability in a personal injury claim. In addition, if the man ends up being charged and convicted, evidence of this conviction may be used to further try to prove that he is financially responsible for the wreck. Financial restitution from a case won by a plaintiff can help injured individuals to cover any expenses related to treating their injuries in West Virginia.
