Car wreck involving single vehicle leads to 2 injuries

A rollover accident can lead to major injuries in West Virginia. For instance, a victim might suffer crushed bones and even damage to the spine or brain. These injuries may not only affect a person physically but also financially if he or she must miss work while trying to recover from the car wreck. A rollover accident can easily occur if a person is operating a vehicle recklessly or negligently in our state.

One tragic rollover accident took place on a recent Saturday. The incident occurred shortly before 5 p.m. Authorities said that the crash involved two individuals, with a car rolling into an area ditch.

One person was thrown from the car, police said. Both of the victims suffered injuries and were transported to the hospital. Their injuries remained unknown following the accident, according to officials. The lanes in the area of the accident had to be shut down following the incident.

A police investigation may reveal the cause of the accident. If the driver’s carelessness led to the car wreck -- such as driving while distracted or driving too quickly for road conditions -- he or she may be held financially responsible for the crash. The injured passenger might pursue a personal injury suit, seeking financial damages that can help to cover his or her treatment expenses or loss of wages, and even address emotional distress or pain and suffering stemming from the event. In order for the outcome of the plaintiff’s claim to be successful, competent proof of negligence on the part of the driver must be submitted to a civil court in West Virginia.
