Transvaginal mesh subject of defective medical device claim

Female incontinence continues to be a significantly large problem here in West Virginia and across the rest of the country. It is often a problem that seems to affect older women, but it can create problems for women of any age. A common solution to incontinence issues is transvaginal mesh. Unfortunately, it has been named in numerous defective medical device lawsuits, including a recent claim from another state.

A woman from another state underwent numerous surgeries where transvaginal mesh was used. The surgeries were to help her with various complications, including stress urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. In each of her surgeries, transvaginal mesh was inserted inside the woman's body.

Unfortunately, the mesh that was used may have been defective. After her surgeries, the woman began to have a number of adverse reactions. One of the primary side effects that she experienced was severe pain.

She believes that the pain and side effects may have been due to a design defect in the transvaginal mesh. She is pursuing legal action against the sellers and manufacturers of the mesh. She has cited design defect, negligence as well as fraudulent concealment.

Transvaginal mesh can cause serious complications for West Virginia patients. The most common issue women have with the mesh is severe pain that renders them unable to perform their day-to-day activities. In some cases, it can be far worse. The important thing for patients to remember is that there may be legal recourse available to victims who have suffered injuries or complications following a surgery with this possibly defective medical device. One may be able to obtain financial compensation for pain and suffering and related damages.
