Car Crash Leads to 1 Death, 2 Injuries in West Virginia

An accident in West Virginia recently caused one woman to lose her life. The unfortunate car crash took place on a Monday night. It occurred during the evening hours, according to authorities.

A 24-year-old man was reportedly driving one car, while a 57-year-old man was driving another car. The two vehicles crashed in a highway area, according to authorities. The younger driver’s automobile caught fire in the crash, police reported.

The older driver and the 45-year-old female passenger in his car suffered injuries and were taken to a medical center. The woman ended up dying there, according to police. Meanwhile, the man who was driving her remained at the medical center with injuries deemed to be major. The younger driver also suffered injuries and was transported to a medical center with injuries also considered serious. Police did not provide information about how the accident happened.

An investigation will have to reveal who was at fault in the car accident. If the younger driver is found to have caused the crash, he may face a wrongful death suit filed by the surviving family members of the dead woman. He may also face a personal injury claim from the other driver. Meanwhile, if the older driver is found to have been at fault, the younger driver may choose to file a personal injury lawsuit against him, seeking damages that can help with hospital expenses and even the loss of wages. A preponderance of the evidence is required to prove that another party to the accident caused the car crash due to negligent behavior in West Virginia.
