Defective products by Keurig Green Mountain cause burns

Coffee-lovers in West Virginia may enjoy their Keurig coffee-making machines or may even be entertaining the thought of purchasing one. However, several million of these machines were recently found to be defective products and thus have been recalled. The company said it has received 90 complaints of burns in connection with the machines.

The company is recalling more than six million of the coffee makers. The particular unit being recalled is the MINI Plus Brewing System unit. According to officials, hot liquid has the ability to escape from particular units while they are being used. This is especially the case if someone uses a machine to produce more than a couple of cups, one right after another.

The machines being recalled feature K10 as a model number and were created between 2009 and 2014. They might have been bought at Walmart, Target, Kohl's or Kmart. Some consumers might have purchased the Keurig machines from the company, Keurig Green Mountain. Consumers with recalled machines may receive free repair kits from the company.

When customers are hurt as a result of using defective products, this can lead to unforeseen medical expenses and even the loss of wages if the injuries are serious enough to prevent them from working for a period of time. The injured party has the right to evaluate all of his or her legal options in an effort to correct the apparent that has been committed by the product manufacturer. The plaintiff must prove that the company's negligence materially contributed to or caused the injury in order to win his or her case in West Virginia.
