1 man dies, 3 injured in West Virginia car wreck

One man and three other people were injured in a sudden vehicle crash in West Virginia recently. The accident occurred on Interstate 77. The person who died in the car wreck was 21, while the injured parties ranged in age from 18 to 19.

Police reported that the 21-year-old man was driving a car on the interstate late at night and suddenly lost control of the vehicle after missing an exit. He ended up striking a wall made out of concrete. The passenger side of the car went up on this wall, and the car then hit a light post.

At that time, the driver was thrown from the car and landed on railroad tracks underneath the interstate; he passed away as a result of his injuries. The three other vehicle passengers suffered injuries: one person's injuries were deemed serious, and the others' were considered not to be life-threatening. The three injured passengers were taken to the hospital for treatment. Police said it did not appear that alcohol or drugs were causal factors in the accident.

The people injured in the West Virginia car wreck may end up incurring major medical expenses and even lose wages due to being unable to go to work while they recover. They have the right to file personal injury claims in civil court, seeking the reimbursement of monetary damages sustained in the horrific wreck. Even though the male driver believed to have caused the wreck ended up dying in the crash, his estate may be sued; any separate owner of the car can also be sued. A judge will decide the plaintiffs' financial damage claims if liability is satisfactorily established in court.
