Stove-maker Electrolux recalls dangerous home products

For consumers in West Virginia, a lot of thought and money often goes into making a major household purchase, such as buying an appliance. Unfortunately, even what appears to be well-made appliances may end up having a defect, thus making them dangerous home products. The company Electrolux recently recalled gas ranges due to a possible fire hazard.

The recall involves Kenmore Elite gas stoves that were sold only at Sears. According to company officials, an estimated 250 dual fuel stoves have a burner flame that has the potential to go out when the gas is still on. This allows gas to continue to escape.

No injuries or incidents have yet been reported in connection with the Kenmore ranges. These stoves were sold at Sears establishments throughout the United States between June 2014 and October 2014. People who have these ranges can contact the company in order to receive a stove repair at no cost to them.

Dangerous home products, such as defective stoves, can easily cause a person to suffer major injuries in West Virginia. These injuries can cost the person his or her ability to work and earn money in addition to leading to hefty medical treatment costs, depending on the nature of the injuries. Those who have been injured by defective products have the right to file product liability claims against the manufacturer of these products, seeking damages. If awarded, damages may help the person to cover his or her financial losses stemming from use of the product and even address pain and suffering caused by the incident.
