TenPoint crossbows latest of dangerous or defective products

Crossbow hunters here in West Virginia will likely be very interested in a recent recall that has taken place nationwide. TenPoint Crossbow Technologies, a popular maker of crossbows and related items, has issued a recall for roughly 127,000 crossbows. This recall includes nine different models of both TenPoint and Wicked Ridge bows due to the fact that they are considered dangerous or defective products

Apparently, the reason for the recall is that the crossbow can fire unexpectedly under certain circumstances. It can fire even when the safety is engaged if the trigger is pulled. Thus far, TenPoint has received reports of 19 incidents. Luckily, there have been no reports of injuries related to the defect.

These crossbows were sold online and in popular sporting goods stores from the beginning of 2011 until May 2015 for as much as $1,800. Consumers are being urged by TenPoint to stop using any defective crossbows immediately. Consumers can contact the company for more information regarding repairs.

When a product is purchased and used according to the guidelines issued by the manufacturer, the last thing individuals think about is something going wrong and causing an injury or a death. Unfortunately, when a product has a design defect, injuries can occur that can result in a lifetime of health problems, if serious enough. If there is sufficient evidence that can be brought forward that shows the manufacturer is to blame for dangerous or defective products, it may be possible for a West Virginia victim to be awarded a monetary judgment to help cover lost wages, medical bills and any other financial losses related to the injury.
