Truck and motorcycle accident leads to 2 deaths

A vehicle accident involving four vehicles -- one truck and three motorcycles -- recently caused the deaths of two people in West Virginia, leaving surviving loved ones questioning how the accident could have occurred. The truck and motorcycle accident took place on a recent Thursday. It happened at around 12:45 p.m.

Police said the crash occurred along West Virginia's Route 2. A man and woman were riding a motorcycle and were possibly on their way to a motorcycle rally. All of a sudden, they were involved in a wreck with two other motorcycles and a pickup truck, all of which were heading south at the time of the accident.

The motorcyclists were trying to turn into an eating establishment parking lot right before the crash happened. A man and woman died in the multi-vehicle accident. Meanwhile, four or five other individuals suffered injuries. The injured victims were taken to the hospital; one of them was the pickup truck driver, while the others were all motorcyclists. Another accident involving a couple of vehicles took place in the same area, apparently as a result of the first accident.

A thorough police investigation is needed to determine who is at fault in the truck and motorcycle accident. If the driver who is found to have caused the accident is one of those who survived the crash, this person may be held liable for the injuries and deaths resulting from the incident. The injured victims may file personal injury claims against him or her, while the families of the deceased victims might choose to file wrongful death claims against this driver. If the person believed to have caused the crash passed away, this person's estate may still be held liable, and so may any other person who separately owned the vehicle he or she was operating at the time of the accident. Liability must be established to the satisfaction of the civil court before a judge will adjudicate claims for damages.
