Car wreck results in death of father and son

Two people recently lost their lives following a vehicle crash in West Virginia. The car wreck took place on a Monday. The accident, which involved a single automobile, occurred at about 1 a.m.

Police said four people were in a vehicle that was heading south on a road. All of a sudden, the motorist lost control of the car. The car the struck a huge tree.

The 19-year-old driver of the car died as did the 43-year-old passenger. Another passenger suffered injuries and was taken to the hospital. Meanwhile, yet another passenger was taken to another hospital by helicopter. The two people who died were a dad and his son. Police reported that none of the accident victims were wearing safety belts at the time of the crash.

The individuals injured in the crash may decide to file personal injury claims, seeking the reimbursement of monetary damages stemming from the accident. Even though the driver of the car passed away, his estate may still face litigation, and so may any other individuals who separately owned the vehicle involved in the single-car crash. A monetary award in a case that is successfully fought may help to cover the plaintiff's hospital bills and other losses resulting from the car wreck; it can also help to address physical and emotional pain and suffering caused by the accident. Competent proof of the negligence of another party to the crash is needed in order to adequately establish liability in civil court. Only then will a court in West Virginia determine the plaintiff's claims for financial damages.
