Defective products recalled include cameras, nut choppers

Defective products can easily cause injury or lead to death depending on the nature of their defects, thus being grounds for litigation against the product manufacturer. West Virginia consumers may be impacted by a couple of product recalls that were recently issued. The defective products that have been issued include cameras and nut choppers.

Point-and-shoot cameras by Olympus were recently recalled because they have a certain part in them that was improperly installed. This part in the digital camera can easily touch the circuit board of the camera, posing the risk of electric shock. The name of the company is printed on the camera's upper right corner in the front. The cameras were marketed both online and at HHGregg retail stores between 2013 and 2014.

Nut choppers marketed by Avon were also recalled. This is because the grinding mechanism's tines have the potential to break. The fragments can then fall into the nuts being chopped, posing an injury risk to consumers. These nut choppers feature lower and upper chambers made out of clear plastic, with the grinding mechanism made out of orange plastic. These products were marketed between June and December 2013.

If defective products end up not being recalled in time, they can cause physical harm to a person in West Virginia. This can end up costing the person large amounts in medical bills and may even lead to the loss of wages if he or she has to miss work due to the injuries inflicted by the product. People injured by malfunctioning products have the right to explore all of their legal options to correct any wrongs committed by the product manufacturers.
