From tutoring and soccer practice to work and grocery shopping, West Virginia parents and children are constantly on the go. It can be hard for parents to figure out a way to get healthy food into the stomachs of their children when life is so hectic. This is why parents often choose easy-to-use, to-go food products, such as GoGo squeeZ applesauce. Unfortunately, some parents are finding out that this particular product may not have been their best choice, as some pouches have been classified as dangerous or defective products.
The GoGo squeeZ pouches have been recalled after mold was allegedly found in some of the packages. Not all of the packages have been recalled, as they were not all affected. However, the ones that could have mold inside have been recalled. The “Best Before Date” on these are any dates including and in between June 30, 2015 and July 26, 2015.
Luckily, the company says it was able to catch the majority of the mold-infected packages before they made it to the shelves for customers to unknowingly purchase. At this time, there is no known risk to consumers, as this is a very common mold. However, for those who are extremely sensitive to mold and allergens, it could prove to be serious.
When injuries occur due to dangerous or defective products, West Virginia victims and their families have the right to consider their legal options. In some cases, this may mean filing a product liability suit that could potentially hold the manufacturer responsible for its negligent actions in developing a defective product and allowing that product onto market shelves for customers to purchase. With successful litigation, it may be possible to recoup financial expenses and monetary damages associated with the defective product.
