Defective products by baby manufacturers recalled

Not all products that end up on store shelves or are marketed online are safe for consumers to use. Multiple defective products sold by baby product manufacturers have recently been recalled throughout the United States, which may impact consumers with young children in West Virginia. The recalls include highchairs, mobiles and cribs.

The recalled highchairs were made by Safety 1st. These chairs were sold at Toys R Us and Babies R US as well as at online retailers, like Amazon and Walmart, between May 2013 and May 2015. A child could remove the tray of the highchair and thus fall. The company has already received 68 reports about kids removing their trays, which include 11 reports about injuries suffered as a result.

The Land of Nod Follow the Herd mobiles are also being recalled. These mobiles were sold at The Land of Nod establishments and through the company's website from Sept. 2013 to May 2015. The mobile has a few sheep figures that are made of wool yarn, which may unravel and thus pose a strangulation and entanglement hazard to young children. DaVinci cribs are also being recalled because a bracket that links the crib to the mattress support may break and therefore create a gap or uneven sleeping surface; if this happens, a child may become entrapped, may fall and/or might suffer cuts from the broken bracket.

Defective products marketed by baby product companies may easily cause serious injuries to a child and escalating medical costs for parents. West Virginia parents of children injured by hazardous products have the right to explore all of their legal options in an effort to right any wrongs committed. This may include pursuing the reimbursement of monetary damages sustained as a result of injuries attributable to use of dangerous products.
