Pelvic mesh named in lawsuit as recent defective medical devices

There are numerous reasons why a product liability lawsuit may be filed. It may be due to the faulty design of a product by a manufacturer. Alternatively, it could be that the product's use carried risks that were not made known to consumers. Either way, when individuals in West Virginia are injured by defective medical devices, they have the right to seek legal counsel and possibly pursue legal claims in order to try to recoup monetary damages sustained as a result of the use of defective products.

A couple in another state has filed a lawsuit against the manufacturer of a medical device that they say injured the wife. According to information in the lawsuit, the woman underwent a pelvic mesh implant on Oct. 30, 2012. This was done in an effort to treat the woman's stress urinary incontinence. Unfortunately, erosion allegedly occurred. This resulted in the woman being in physical pain and continuously suffering.

Although unclear at this time, the woman may need to undergo a corrective surgery in order to repair the damage that has been done. The couple stated in the lawsuit that the woman's injuries are the result of an alleged defect in the manufacturer's pelvic mesh product. The couple is seeking monetary damages for the injuries and losses that have resulted.

A defective medical devices claim can be particularly complex. It can be difficult to prove that a medical device was indeed defective without some professional assistance. With the right knowledge of West Virginia state law and appropriate help, it may be possible to file a claim against the manufacturer in order to hold it responsible for its reckless actions that caused a victim to become injured.
