West Virginia car accident results in serious injuries

A vehicle crash in West Virginia recently caused two people to suffer serious injuries. The car accident involved a single car. It took place on a Monday at the end of September.

Authorities said they received a call about the car accident shortly before 1 p.m. The accident occurred at the corner of two roads. Both passengers in the vehicle were transported to the hospital via helicopter for treatment.

At the time of the report, the police were continuing to review the evidence at the car accident scene. However, they said it appeared that the vehicle left the roadway and ended up airborne. The car then reportedly collided with a telephone pole, which caused wires to fall. The West Virginia State Police is handling the crash investigation.

The person who was driving the car may be held liable for the passenger's injuries. This is because it is within the rights of the passenger to file a personal injury lawsuit against the driver, pursuing the reimbursement of monetary damages sustained in the car accident. A vehicle accident leading to injuries can lead to expensive medical bills and even prevent a person from being able to work for a period of time as he or she recovers from his or her injuries. A successfully presented suit, based upon a showing of negligence, may result in a financial award that can help to cover the injury victim's medical expenses, lost wages and other accident-related losses. A civil court in West Virginia will ultimately adjudicate claims for monetary damages only if negligence is established to its satisfaction.
