3 people die in head-on car wreck in West Virginia

One vehicle crash in West Virginia has claimed the lives of three people. The car wreck occurred on a recent Wednesday. It happened along West Virginia Route 28.

Police said they got a call at about 4 p.m. regarding a collision involving two vehicles. They said the accident happened when one car was being driven north on the state route by a female; a male passenger was in this car. Meanwhile, a pickup truck that a man was driving was heading south on the same road.

The car ended up breaching the road's center line while trying to negotiate a right-hand curve in the road. Both vehicles crashed head-on during the turn. The two people in the car died at the accident scene, while the pickup truck driver suffered injuries and was taken to the hospital. This driver passed away shortly thereafter at the medical center. Officials continue to investigate the cause of the collision.

The estate of the person who was driving the car and reportedly caused the head-on car wreck may face litigation in this case. In addition, any separate owner of the vehicle she was driving when the crash happened may be sued. This is because loved ones who lose a family member in a fatal crash due to the negligence of another party -- such as driving while distracted or speeding -- have the right to file a wrongful death claim, pursuing damages. No amount of money can bring back a loved one who has died in a vehicle crash in West Virginia; however, it may help to provide closure and enable the family to move on from the tragic ordeal.
