DrillMaster drills latest of defective household products

West Virginia residents who are purchasing tools for their loved ones as Christmas gifts may want to double-check and ensure that they are not purchasing a faulty product. Some defective household products, such as tools, have recently come to light. One of these is a cordless drill from Harbor Freight.

Harbor Freight has recently issued a recall of its 18-volt cordless drills manufactured by Drill Master. Apparently, the drills can overheat. This can then result in injury to the user, including finger and hand burns, as well as property damage. So far, there have been 25 incidents of the drills overheating. Six of these resulted in user burns, and five resulted in minor damage to property.

These drills have a black body and a red switch. The two item numbers that consumers need to look for are 68239 and 68287. The first one was a stand-alone drill, but the second one was purchased as part of a tool kit. They were sold from May 2011 to September 2015. Consumers are advised to stop using the drill and return it to a local Harbor Freight store for a replacement drill.

Even though a recall has been issued, it may already be too little, too late. West Virginia residents who have already suffered an injury as a result of defective household products may want to consider a product liability claim. With the right evidence and successful litigation, it may be possible to recover compensation for the damages that have been incurred as a result of the manufacturer's negligence in producing a defective, harmful product.
