Exploding bottles latest of dangerous or defective products

When West Virginia residents purchase bottles of beverages at the grocery store, they probably do not expect them to blow up after getting them home. However, that is exactly the premise of a recent recall. The dangerous or defective products involved are bottles of Trader Joe's Triple Ginger Brew.

The Triple Ginger Brew product is a popular non-alcoholic, carbonated beverage available at Trader Joe's stores. There is no health risk if consumers actually drink the beverage. The problem is that the unopened bottles can explode. At this time, it is unclear why this explosion is happening, but consumers are urged to return any bottles for a refund and to take care when handling the product.

The products affected are those with the SKU number 51857. The 25.4-ounce bottles were sold at stores from November 9, 2015 until December 14, 2015. They were sold nationwide at various stores. Luckily, no injuries have been reported at this time.

Since no injuries have been reported, it may be that Trader Joe's was able to pull the product off store shelves before the situation got too bad. However, dangerous or defective products that are allowed onto shelves for consumers to purchase and take home can endanger millions of lives. As a result, this makes the company and/or manufacturer culpable via product liability claims, which can be filed by victims of faulty products. If such claims are successfully litigated, West Virginia victims may often be able to recover financial remuneration for medical expenses, lost wages, physical pain and suffering as well as mental anguish.
