John Deere Lawn Mowers Recalled as Defective Household Products

Being injured by a product that one loves and uses regularly can be particularly upsetting. One of the most common household products used regularly is a lawn mower. John Deere is one of the most popular name brands of lawn mowers, and this manufacturer has issued one of the most recent recalls of defective household products that may affect in consumers in West Virginia.

Over 2,000 riding lawn mowers have been recalled by John Deere. Apparently, the mowers are equipped with a brake arm that may be faulty. These mowers were sold at various John Deere retailers, including Lowe’s and Home Depot stores across the country, for roughly $1,700 to $2,700.

The recalled models of John Deere mowers include D110, D125, D130, D140, D155, D160 and D170. The serial numbers for these lawn tractors begin with 1GXD. The model number can be found on the bottom right and left of the mower’s hood and is yellow in color. The serial number can be found under the fender on the left side of the mower, as well as above the left rear tire.

It is unclear if any incidents or injuries have been reported to John Deere. However, it is apparent that the faulty brake arm can cause a crash. This could lead anyone on the mower or in its path to become injured.

When a West Virginia resident is injured by defective household products, there may be legal recourse available. Manufacturers of products are required by law to ensure that their products are safe for use by consumers. When they fail to take the appropriate measures to ensure that consumers will be safe when using their products, they can be held responsible for injuries and other losses that occur as a result of their recklessness.
