Latest Dangerous or Defective Products May Pose Choking Hazards

 | Jun 24, 2015 | Dangerous Or Defective Products

Parents often assume that the children’s toys that they purchase and bring into their homes are perfectly safe. It is assumed that these toys have been fully and thoroughly tested for safety. Unfortunately, dangerous or defective products still make their way onto shelves and into the homes of West Virginia residents.

Hundreds of toys have been recalled by Bunnies by the Bay. The affected toys are pull toys. Allegedly, there is a risk of a choking hazard.

The choking hazard comes from the wheels’ hub caps potentially coming off or breaking off of the wheels of the toy. Young children may see these small hub caps and put them in their mouths. This creates the potential for a child to choke and require medical attention. In severe cases, it could result in a child’s death.

The affected toys were sold at specialty stores, gift stores, and They began selling in February of this year and were sold until April of this year. Bunnies by the Bay is urging consumers to take these pull toys away from children immediately and return them to the store where they were purchased to receive a 100 percent refund.

There are extensive regulations in place surrounding the design, manufacture and sale of toys for children. However, mistakes can always be made during production, whether it be a poor design, deviation from specifications or something else entirely. West Virginia parents who have children who have been injured by dangerous or defective products need to be aware of the legal routes that may be available to take in order to hold the responsible parties accountable for their actions.
