RECARO Car Seats Are Latest Dangerous or Defective Products

 | Sep 24, 2015 | Dangerous Or Defective Products

West Virginia parents who own a RECARO car seat will want to pay very close attention to this week’s blog post. There are two types of car seats sold by RECARO that are considered to be dangerous or defective products. As of right now, the company has recalled over 170,000 of its car seats that were manufactured between April 2010 and June 2015.

Apparently, the car seats may not hold up as they should in car accidents. The recall impacts both the Performance RIDE and ProRIDE Convertible Car Seats. If a crash were to occur while a child was in one of these car seats, the child may be at an increased risk of unnecessary injury.

The recall comes after the company conducted its fiscal year testing and product evaluation with the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration. During this time, it was found that a small part of the shells of these car seats could either detach from the main heel or crack during a vehicle collision. As of right now, the company has not received any reports of incidents or injuries, so it is trying to get ahead of the issue before anything bad does occur.

Most companies are not so quick to find flaws in their products and most certainly don’t act as quickly on the faults when they are found. Luckily, RECARO is, but this doesn’t mean that West Virginia residents can’t suffer negatively as a result of these or other dangerous or defective products. Injured victims have legal rights,  including the right to recourse against the manufacturer of a defective, injury-causing product by the successful litigation of a product liability claim.
