Onesies, griddles among recently recalled defective products

Seemingly safe products may end up actually posing serious hazards to children or adults in West Virginia. This is the case for multiple defective products that have recently been recalled. Among the products included in the recall are onesies for infants and electric griddles.

Disneyland 60th anniversary and Darth Vader infant onesies have been recalled by Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. The onesies are problematic in that the snaps have the potential to detach, thus posing a choking hazard. So far, injuries associated with the onesie have not been reported. This recall involves nearly 10,000 onesies. The onesies were retailed at the Florida Walt Disney World Resort, at the California Disneyland Resort and on some of Disney's cruise ships.

Electric griddles by the brand Rival have also been recalled. These griddles were retailed at Walmart stores throughout the nation as well as online between July 2015 and December 2015. These items are being recalled since the heating element may crack, thus allowing water to get inside and subsequently posing a serious shock hazard.

When customers in West Virginia are negatively affected by defective products in West Virginia, it is within the rights to take legal action in an effort to hold the product makers accountable. Those who are injured by dangerous products may file product liability claims, seeking damages, which -- if awarded -- might help to cover related medical costs and other losses recognized under state law. Although monetary damages cannot undo the events leading to the injuries, they may provide a sense of closure for the injury victims.
