Car accident involving minivan claims 3 lives

A vehicle collision leading to three deaths recently occurred in West Virginia. The crash took place along Interstate 79. The car accident involved a minivan that was carrying six individuals from a couple of churches.

The motor vehicle wreck occurred on a Friday night. According to police, the minivan was hit by a truck. The truck was going in the opposite direction at the time, before crossing the median of the roadway.

Two passengers in the van, who were high school students, died in the crash. In addition, a mother of three children, who was operating the minivan at the time of the crash, passed away in the collision. She was 41 years old. The occupants of the minivan were on their way to do mission work when the crash happened.

The driver of the truck may face wrongful death lawsuits in West Virginia filed by the family members of the individuals who lost their lives in the car accident. These surviving loved ones have the right to seek the reimbursement of monetary damages sustained in the crash, which may help them to cover burial costs, loss of companionship or the loss of income for surviving dependents, for example. A monetary award in a successfully litigated case may also help to address the family members' pain and suffering as well as their emotional distress. A preponderance of the evidence is necessary to establish liability in civil court, based upon appropriate proof of negligence. Once liability is established, the court will determine documented claims for specific items of monetary damages.
