Surgical errors lead to injuries, grounds for lawsuit

A man in a different state recently claimed that doctors incorrectly performed a procedure on him. He has, therefore, filed a medical malpractice suit against the physicians and the medical center. When surgical errors and other types of errors cause patients harm in West Virginia and elsewhere, these patients have the right to seek justice through the legal system.

In the recent out-of-state case, the man asserted that multiple doctors tried several times to put an internal jugular center line in the man's neck. However, they reportedly failed in their efforts to do so. The man claimed that that doctors not only performed the procedure improperly but also were careless in their work.

The doctors are also being accused of not properly diagnosing the man's condition and of not providing reasonable attention to the man from a medical standpoint. The plaintiff is seeking $250,000 from one doctor, $150,000 from a second doctor, and $50,000 from a third doctor. He is also seeking $250,000 from a fourth doctor and a regional medical center.

It is within the rights of a person who has been injured due to surgical errors or other types of medical errors to file a medical malpractice claim against the reportedly at-fault party or parties, pursuing the reimbursement of monetary damages. Financial restitution from a successfully litigated case in West Virginia may help the patient to cover his or her medical bills as well as the loss of wages if he or she was unable to work for a time due to his or her injuries. Competent proof is needed to establish liability before a judge will decide claims for damages.
