Some rock salt lamps deemed defective products

Some households in West Virginia might be affected by a recent product recall. The store Michael's has issued the recall for Lumiere rock salt lamps. There are three types of these lamps that are all considered to be defective products.

The recall has been issued because the dimmer switch may overheat. The lamp's outlet plug also has the potential to overheat. As a result, these products are said to pose a shock and fire hazard.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, no injuries have been reported so far.  However, consumers are encouraged to stop using these lamps right away. They can return the lamps to any Michael's store and receive refunds for them.

Product manufacturers are expected to generate products that meet their customers' needs while also being safe for their customers to utilize. However, sometimes they fail in this regard, and the products that consumers in the state of West Virginia and elsewhere purchase end up featuring potentially injury-causing or even deadly defects. If a person is injured as a result of using a dangerous product, he or she has the right to file a product liability claim against the maker of the product, seeking damages. In addition, the loved ones of those who end up suffering fatal injuries due to using defective products retain the right to file wrongful death claims against the product makers. Once liability is established in a manner that satisfies the civil court hearing the case, claims for monetary damages could be determined.
