Polaris Vehicles Considered Dangerous Products

 | Oct 19, 2017 | Products Liability

Yet another recall by Polaris may affect users of off-highway vehicles in West Virginia. The recent recall involves 2016 Polaris ACE 325 vehicles from the model years of 2014 to 2016. Around 6,300 of these dangerous products are being recalled overall.

According to the company, the recreational vehicle’s exhaust header pipe may crack. This might allow hot gases to enter the engine compartment, thus posing a burn and fire hazard. Consumers are encouraged to quit using these vehicles and to get in touch with Polaris so that free repairs can be scheduled.

The off-highway vehicles were sold nationwide at Polaris dealers between December of 2014 and July of 2017. They cost around $7,500 apiece. Polaris has so far recalled about 12 vehicle models in 2017 as well as some snowmobiles. Company officials said that they are discovering and dealing with quality and safety issues more quickly than they did previously. The company additionally said it is making improvements to the design of its products and enhancing its manufacturing and testing; it has also taken measures to increase the monitoring of its products after they have been sold.

Sometimes, companies produce dangerous products and do not catch their mistakes until consumers have already suffered serious injuries due to using the items. In such a situation, an injured consumer in West Virginia has the right to file a product liability claim against the manufacturer, seeking the reimbursement of damages sustained. A monetary award in a successfully fought claim may help with covering health care costs, lost wages due to having to miss work, and other monetary losses resulting from the use of the injury-causing product.
